The superb Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós, are back (already) with a new album coming in June. It was only May last year they were releasing their sixth album Valtari, and they are due to release their seventh album on June 17/18, titled Kveikur.
Check out the fantastic video for the new track Brennisteinn below. It is refreshing to see this new direction in sound for the band while still ultimately sounding like classic Sigur Rós. I'm also happy that this track is a lot more dynamic. Valtari was a little too mellow for me, and ultimately didn't excite me in the way that their music had previously. This album is looking very promising as Brennisteinn is Sigur Rós at their mind-blowing best.
